I own a BMW 325i, made in 1989, and I want to make it go faster. The problem is that I know very little about cars. I know I’m going to need a manual transmission but that’s all I know at the moment. My friend told me to switch over to synthetic oil to help clean out the engine and get it running better. He told me to change the oil with synthetic for like 3 oil changes then continue with a synthetic blend. I’m willing to pay the money for it but should I switch over to full synthetic? If not, what should I use for performance?

Yes it is a 92 and yes it does have 176k miles on it but its an engine that will last another 100k to 150k if taken care of well. The body is still in good condition so why not fix it up? I’m not asking for a racing beast or anything, just something where I can punch it and it has a really good kick to it…

ALSO oil does make a huge difference in a car’s performance…
