How to reset the keyless system in a BMW Z3 after battery went dead?

BMW I had to change the battery in my 1999 BMW Z3 and it seems like the keyless system lost its memory. When I try to turn the keyless system on, the alarm starts after a few seconds. Any clue of what I should do? Thanks.
